The Body Shop Body Butter Collection

I love TBS Body Butters. They are my favourite beauty products and I believe that every person should own at least one. I own 7 - 5 normal sized and 2 small. I believe they are great because they tend to last such a long time and not only does it keep your skin amazingly soft, you can still smell them on you hours after (other brands tend to not do that).

I would say my favourite is the Strawberry as it has the most gorgeous smell but I love how they are all different. For example, Brazil Nut is the best for dry skin.

What are your favourite body butters? And which one should I add to my collection?

3 Years Ago Today...

I met the love of my life. I felt a little unsure about writing this post as I wasn't sure what to write or if anyone would be interested. But I knew that Aiden was doing a 'free' surprise (and while writing this I still don't know what it is) and I wanted to do one back and the only thing I could think of was to declare my love for him online, so hopefully he's going to enjoy reading this as much as the rest of you!

Alot of people have judged our relationship from the beginning but I honestly think that's only made us stronger. People think meeting online is weird and that they never last but we're proof it can work! We're also proof that long distance relationships work. We both hate the long journey's but they are always so so so worth it. Finally, people think being together from the age of 16 is too young but I don't feel like I've missed out at all. In fact I feel fortunate that I've met my soulmate at a young age as most people never meet theirs, and plus I get to spend my whole life with him and experience it all with him too.

I feel so lucky to have had so many amazing memories and I really cannot wait for all the rest to come. Maybe we can take some flattering photos instead of blurry 'what was I thinking' ones (all on my part not Aiden's, he looks gorgeous in every one!)  I was going to do a sort of montage of all of our happy and funny moments but most jokes wouldn't be funny to anyone else so there wouldn't be much point! All I am going to say is that he is the best boyfriend in the whole world. He might annoy me sometimes but life wouldn't be the same without him and I appreciate him more than anything.

Happy Anniversary Aiden, I love you. :)

Aim for next anniversary: have a lot of decent photos to show. Stay tuned! :D

Jess's Guide To: Saving Money

After doing a guide to making extra money, I thought I'd do one from the other side of things - saving money. I find it quite difficult to save as there are so many things that I need to pay for (phone bill, travel to work etc.) and most of my money is gone before I can afford to spend on things for myself. However, in August, I used my finance section in my Filofax (you can purchase one yourself here) to work out what I spend my money on. Looking back at it, I realised that a huge amount of money went on bottles of drinks before and after work and lunch during work and travel. I didn't think that spending £1 on a drink would amount to so much, you always think "Oh, it's only cheap it's not like I'm spending loads" but it honestly adds up. So, today I thought I'd help out you all with ways to save your hard earned money and discover ways of treating yourself without blowing your budget.

1. Write down what you spend

Now this won't save you money at first, but when you look back, you can see areas in which it is possible to cut back. For example, for me it was drinks, and now I've started making a drink at home and taking it with me.

Bottle of coke = £1.20 (ish) x 30 = £36 a month = 4 depotted MAC eye shadows (£9 each)

2. Buy from blogsales/ebay

Another man's trash is another man's treasure! There are plenty of things online that you can get at a bargain price, especially if you can't resist buying make up. Look around on blog sales first - I bought a MAC eye shadow and came home to see someone was selling the same one for £5! However, be careful not to over spend simply because it's cheap. Buy what you need, not what is cheap.

Average saving = few pounds per item

3. Book travel online

If you know you need to travel somewhere in advance, book your train tickets online. You can save so much money which you can use on something else. Also, if you'll need to eat/drink on your journey, buy it before you get to the station and definitely don't buy on the train itself! And if you take regular journeys, get yourself a railcard. :)

Average savings = 30% off

4. Avoid shop deals when necessary.

This sounds a bit silly as sometimes deals are perfect, but when you don't need them, you shouldn't use them. For example, if you want a certain nail polish and it's 3 for 2, you end up buying another one for the sake of it when you don't really want one. I've done it so many times when I've ended up buying things I never use just because it was part of a deal.

5. Look on discount websites.

Groupon are amazing for deals, but there are also websites that offer freebies such as Magic Freebies. You can't go wrong with a freebie - plus it might be something you want. There's also other money saving tips on there.

I hope you've enjoyed this post, feel free to leave your money saving tips below!

MUA Pro Palette

After reading excessive amounts of reviews on these palettes, I decided to go out and buy myself one. Having been a huge fan of MUA products in the past (cheap, large amount, last all day) I was excited to try something from their new range.

I decided to get the 'Glitter Ball' palette as I was looking to try out some bright colours, and I was pleased with the range of colours that there was. I was also really happy with the price, £4 is not bad for a palette of that size. In fact, I was pretty pleased with everything, except for the fact that it practically falls apart everytime I touch it.

Everytime I put my brush into any of the eye shadows, it crumbles and I'm left with way too much on my brush and a ruined palette. I want to love this so much, but why is it breaking? Has anyone else had this problem or know how to solve it?

August Favourites

Another month, another round up of favourites. Not much to say, I'm just going to crack on with it.

The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter - I, along with the rest of the world, love TBS Body Butter's, however I think Strawberry is my favourite, simply because it smells gorgeous! Keep an eye out for my post on my Body butter collection.

No7 Stay Perfect Foundation - After running out of my MAC Studio Fix foundation, I resorted back to this, which was previously a favourite. I'd actually forgotten how good this is. It lasts all day and provides a good coverage. Any spare vouchers? Take a look at their foundations, they have so many different types, I'm sure you'll find the perfect one for you.

Ahava Mineral Body Lotion - I received this in this month's Glossy Box (which I've now unsubscribed from) and I love it. It applies really well and it smells lush!

Benefit Coralista - I received this as a birthday present and I love it. Since my ELF blush has hit pan, I've stopped using it as I don't want it to finish haha, so I've started using this. I find this more natural though, and it blends well into the skin. The only downside is I'm not a fan of the brush you get, so I use a different one (which I'm about to mention)

ELF Total Face Brush - Although it's a face brush, I prefer to use it for blusher and bronzer. This only costs £1.50 and I actually prefer this to their more expensive brushes (I have both). It's not super soft but a lot of the product goes onto the brush.

What are your August favourites?
