Very Important Post...

Today, I sadly noticed that my Hotmail account has been hacked somehow. It has resulted in e-mails being sent to almost everyone I have ever e-mailed saying things along the lines of "Make money from home" with a link. I wasn't going to post anything but I realised that as I have a money saving blog, that people may think it is genuinely me. It isn't, and I'm doing everything I can to work out how it has happened.

If you received an e-mail from me, please delete it. And please note, I will never ever send an e-mail saying to make money here with a link. The only time I will send a link is if you have e-mailed me first, or if it's my blog. :)

If you have any idea how this has happened, or anyway that I can stop this problem, then please let me know. I have already changed my password so I'm hoping that's helped.

Thank you for understanding and hope you're all having a good Friday.

Suggestions and Opinions

Hi everybody!

Firstly, hello to all of my new followers. Recently I launched a new blog, and a big thank you to those who are already following. It's great that some of you think it's a good idea. If you're into getting a good deal or saving some money without cutting back on everything, then please follow. You'd make my day if you do.

I mentioned in my last ramble post that I wouldn't really be focusing on this blog as much, but after a few days I missed it so much! Beauty and make up will always be a big love of mine, and although I am going to only post twice a week (may be more or less some weeks - don't hold me to my word!) I really do want to continue making this blog grow.

I would really love to know what blogs you love to read. There's no point me doing endless reviews (as I feel that's all I've done recently). I'm trying not to spend as much on new products for now anyway, so if you have any ideas for me then please let me know.

I hope you've all had a great weekend, and I look forward to all of your comments. :)

Soap and Glory Glow All Out

When Soap and Glory launched their cosmetics range, I was so excited. As one of Soap and Glory's biggest fans (although I'm sure some of you may fight me to that title) I couldn't wait to try some of their new products. It's such a shame that for weeks and weeks, I was presented with a horrible display consisting of three or four, mostly damaged products. I don't know if this was down to Boots or Soap and Glory themselves, but either way, they let themselves on that part.

When they finally did have a decent amount of stock (although still not everything) I decided to try the Glow All Out Luminizing Face Powder. I was looking for a natural looking highlighter, and this looked like it would do the job. Like all other S&G products, the packaging is beautiful, although white products never stay white. (Or is that just me?)

Every day for the past week, I have applied to my upper cheekbones, my nose and under my eyebrows. It takes a few applications before you can notice a difference. There is a very slight shimmer which isn't noticable unless you look closely.

I love this product as it doesn't look like you're wearing any powder, it just adds a natural 'highlight' and it leaves the skin incredibly soft.

For £11.00 it is very worth the money, especially as it contains a lot of product. It is going to last a long time. For more information on this or any other Soap and Glory product, click here.

Another Blog?!

Two posts in one night, you lucky things!

If I am being completely honest, I have sort of lost my beauty blogging mojo - don't worry I know it will come back, but I feel like this blog is not going in the way I want it to. I have decided to take a step back from Ditzy Glamour - not because I don't enjoy it, but because the pressures (from myself) of not blogging enough is getting to me. I will blog once or twice a week, and I really do hope this is okay!

In other news, I have created a new blog. Money saving is a big thing to me, especially recently, and rather than blog about it on here, I have decided to create a seperate blog to share my tips and ideas. I would really love if you could pop over and take a look, maybe even follow? There is nothing on there as yet, but I do have lots of posts lined up already. I am very excited about this new venture and I really hope you might enjoy it too.

Jess's Guide To: Washing Your Make Up Brushes

I haven't done one of these posts in a while, and they seem to be pretty popular (feel free to offer any suggestions in the comments on what I can do a 'guide to' next). Before I start this post, I'm going to admit that I am a complete fail when it comes to regularly washing my make up brushes. I find it so tedious and I leave it up until I have no possible way of using the brushes before I wash them, which I know is really bad, but it's a habit I'm slowly breaking, and I'll show you how!

If you use your make up brushes daily, ideally you should wash them once a week. Not only does it make them nicer and softer to use, it will get rid of bacteria, oils and dead skin cells in them. A lot of people may not realise that this is what is causing breakouts, not the products themselves.

Washing your make up brushes is not a difficult job, but there a few things that should be done that not everyone knows.

1. Firstly, you must use warm water, not boiling hot and not freezing cold. If the water is too hot, it may damage the brushes. Make sure you point the brush downwards so the water doesn't run into the brush handle. It may loosen the glue.

2. Then, apply brush shampoo (I use one from ELF, but there are plenty available) and massage the bristles. I would not recommend normal shampoo, but I've heard Johnson's Baby Shampoo is a great alternative as it's mild. Rinse and repeat as many times as you need until the water runs clear.

3. Gently squeeze any excess water from the brush and reshape it.

4. Lay the brush on it's side on a towel and leave to dry. If you leave your brushes to dry standing up, the water will run down, and loosen the glue. No one wants ruined brushes!

5. Make sure the brush is completely dry before using again. Depending on how dense the bristles are, it could take from a few hours to a whole day!

As I mentioned earlier, I hardly ever wash my brushes *slaps wrist* however I have started to use my ELF Daily Brush Cleaner. It's super cheap, and every day after use, I simply spray the brush and wipe it clean. Simple! :)

PS Sorry for the lack of posts lately, I'm not sure where time goes!

New Ways To Follow

As you all know GFC disappeared for all non-Blogger users. As mine is Blogger, you can indeed still follow Ditzy Glamour via GFC. However, I noticed that so many people have changed how they view blogs simply because they can't follow all on GFC anymore. So I thought I'd do this post to show how you can follow my blog (and also others).

HelloCotton

I did a post on this here and it honestly is one of my favourite ways to follow blogs now. I go on there almost daily and I have found so many new blogs (surprisingly most have been lifestyle and design blogs!). You can follow me on HelloCotton here.

Bloglovin

I joined Bloglovin as soon as I started my blog, and only recently has my follower count on here started to grow. I don't particularly like Bloglovin myself as I like to see who is following etc. but if you do follow blogs that way then you can follow me on Bloglovin here.

Facebook

Ditzy Glamour has a Facebook page! It's taken me a while to get used to it and I feel silly writing status updates on there at the moment as there aren't many 'likes' but once the count goes up, you will hear a lot from me on there! You can 'like' my Facebook page here.

Twitter

Okay, so you can't exactly follow my blog on Twitter but you can follow me. I tweet a lot, and I always tweet my posts so you can catch up from there. I know a lot of other bloggers tweet their posts too, so if you haven't yet got Twitter ... go go go! You can follow me here.

GFC

Finally of course you can still follow via GFC if it is your preferred way.

I appreciate every single follower, however you may read my blog, and I just want to say thank you for reading and especially for commenting. Blogging really does make me happy and it makes me even happier to know other people enjoy reading it too.

Finally, just a little note. I just read this post on Charlotte's blog. Her, and many others have recently lost GFC and are aiming to reunite readers with their favourite blogs. Please please please, visit her post, and help spread the word. :)

What's your favourite way to follow blogs?

Aims For March

It's a new month once again! I'm not quite sure how popular these posts actually are, so do let me know, as I don't want to do them if no one likes them. February seemed to drag on for me - I was actually just counting down the days to March (mostly because of pay day!).

Looking back at my aims for February, I did a lot better this month.

Complete Frugal February
I did it! I'm not going to lie I hated every second of it, and there seemed to be a sale in every shop. I'm happy as I spent just under £200 less than I did in January so that's a pretty good saving right? It also helped that I took my own lunch to work every day (minus one cheeky Mcdonalds visit), which was so boring, but again I saved money.

Take more photos
I just don't seem to have time to take photos! As much as I want to, I forget my camera when I'm out, and I end up just not taking any photos. The only times I did remember, I looked rougher than rough so didn't bother.

Relax more
I think I relaxed a bit too much, and to be honest, I didn't like it! I got too lazy and ended up falling behind on uni work, and I didn't get anything done. It has taught me that I need to relax, but I might just stick to one evening a week or something. I need routines and productivity! Is that just me?

My aims for March are going to be a lot more positive, and I'm looking forward to it.

Isn't he beautiful? :)

Walk the dog
My poor little pet chihuahua is a little bit overweight. He actually used to be really overweight (which is apparantly really common in small dogs due to owners not realising sizes - did you know that feeding a chihuahua one sausage is like eating more than 20 yourself?). This month I plan to walk him a lot more - at least 3 times a week depending on work hours. This will also help with my next aim.

Do more exercise
Last month, after my week off work, I looked in the mirror and was seriously shocked at what I saw. Don't get me wrong, I am not fat, and nowhere near, and I would never say I was if I wasn't. But, I was completely shocked at how much my body shape had changed. I didn't like it, and my naturally slim body is slowly heading out the door. My plan is to do a lot more exercise, and possible even head to the gym.

Have a clear out
You know when you open your wardrobe and say 'I have nothing to wear!' although technically you do? Well, I have been saying that for years. I have decided to get rid of all of my clothes (apart from a minimum of like 10 favourites) and start again. I am meant to be saving, so I'm only going to spend what I make from selling my clothes so that way I'm not exactly wasting money, but I get a whole new wardrobe from it. I want to get lots of statement pieces that can be worn all the time and never go out of fashion. I'm not really a fashion junkie to I need ideas for good investments please!

What are your plans for March?
